There is one God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Ruler of the universe.1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one."
Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, was wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven. Jesus will literally return to earth and will reign as King over all the earth. Matthew 1:18 "This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about[a]: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit." John 10:30 "I and the Father are one.” Hebrews 4:15 "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet He did not sin."1 Corinthians 15:3-4 "For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance[a]: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures"Acts 1:9-12 "After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 'Men of Galilee,' they said, 'why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.'" Zechariah 14:3-4 " then the LORD will go out and fight against those nations, as he fights on a day of battle. On that day his feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and the Mount of Olives will be split in two from east to west, forming a great valley, with half of the mountain moving north and half moving south."
God the Holy Spirit is the Comforter and Guide Who lives in every Believer, exalts Jesus Christ, convinces unbelievers of their need for salvation, and draws people to God. John 14:26 "But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, is without error, and is the sole authority for life and faith. 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness"
Human beings are a special creation of God, made in His image. Because of the sin of Adam, the first man, all humans are sinners and need salvation.Genesis 1:27 "So God created human beings in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God"Romans 10:9-10 "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
Salvation is a free gift, available to all. It is a personal decision that must be individually made when one comes to realize his or her need for Christ to save them from the penalty of sin. Salvation is received through repentance and trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ for eternal life. Ephesians 2:8 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God"John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
Every person who is truly saved is eternally secure in the Lord Jesus Christ. John 10:28 "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand."
Jesus Christ will literally return to earth.John 14:3 "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am."
People who die in their sins without Christ spend eternity in Hell and those who die with their sins forgiven through Christ spend eternity in Heaven.Matthew 10:28 "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell."2 Corinthians 5:8 "We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord."
Baptism is the picture of Jesus Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. It is an act of obedience that identifies you with the One to whom you have committed your life. Baptism does not earn salvation. The word “baptize” literally means “to immerse” and we believe baptism by immersion pictures our position with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection.Romans 6:4 "We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
The Church is the Body of Christ with the Lord Jesus Christ as the Head. The local church is a body of Believers serving Christ together.Matthew 16:18 "And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of death will not overcome it."
Every Believer has direct access to God through the Lord Jesus Christ.1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God and one mediator between God and human beings, Christ Jesus, himself human"
The Lord's Supper
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby Believers remember the death of the Lord Jesus and anticipate His second coming. The bread is symbolic of His body and the juice represents His bloodMatthew 26:26-28 "While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, 'Take and eat; this is my body.' Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, 'Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.' "
